Janie’s Presidents block
Jun 10, 2013
When our Asheville, NC quilt guild president retires; we make her a quilt block. Janie’s desire was for us to make her a food block- she plans to give the quilt to a local food bank. Pictured above is my contribution, a block of wheat. Finished size will be 8 1/2 inches square.
“No Sewing Until You Quilt It” was the technique I used to build the block. But, now I am doing a hand slip stitch around all the pieces- as she will join it to other blocks made with other techniques. A small needle slips very easily through the edges that were turned with glue stick when building the blocK.
