Happy 2016
Jan 4, 2016
It is the beginning of the first full week in the New Year, and our first snow flurries are falling; it is a good day to quilt.
My husband helped me layer the quilt sandwich for the 1st of 2 Twin quilts, to be given to a charity. I used 505 Spray Baste and only put a few pins around the outside edges. I then used my walking foot with invisible thread on top and a 40 weight rayon in the bobbin and stitched in the ditch along the sashing. This will anchor the quilt top. Now I am ready to free motion stitch and quilt at the same time in each block.
I used Ruth McDowell’s Day lLily design from her Pieced Flowers book, but my Firehouse Quilting Bee and I built the blocks with my “No Sewing Until You Quilt It” technique.
